It’s winter time and we needed a break. As is probably true for you, life is incredibly hectic and finding time to have a quality conversation with your partner, family and/or friends can be hard to fit in. This is wrong but unfortunately my life at the moment. So we took a weekend break to Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty with Billie in tow.
One thing we have discovered is that if we want to stay at decent accommodation when travelling to Tauranga with Billie, we have to stay out of town. We stayed at Homewell which is a B & B, 20 minutes outside of Tauranga. http://www.nz.com/accommodation/tauranga/homewell.aspx.
It is beautiful, reasonably priced ($130 p.n.) and has all the facilities you would expect of a Bed and Breakfast. The owner is lovely and approachable, plus she leaves you alone so privacy is not an issue. The room has separate access to the house, it has a TV with Netflix, coffee and tea making facilities and the continental breakfast is lovely.

We had a meal at the CBK in the centre of Tauranga https://www.cbk.nz/tauranga. Billie was made welcome and the waitress quickly brought him a water bowl (my personal judgement of pet-friendly restaurants). The food was great, reasonably priced and the service was excellent.
